Black Mountains

 
 

The Black Mountains - a pile of huge shiny black boulders with no soil and almost no vegetation, standing over 300m high.  It is an area shrouded in mystery and featured in many Aboriginal legends.

  6. *Nature’s Powerhouse - situated in Cooktown’s Botanical Gardens with displays of Cooktown’s native flaura and fauna as well as the Vera Scarth-Johnson gallery with paintings, sculptures and artworks by local Cooktown artists
